Brad Cann is a highly experienced financial services professional with over 20 years of experience in the asset management industry. He has held senior management positions across multiple Asset Managers, most recently as the Vice President and Head of Retail Sales at Purpose Investments, as well as time spent at CC&L Funds, and Horizons ETFs.

Brad is a graduate of St. Andrews Presbyterian College in North Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.

Throughout his career, Brad has been dedicated to providing exceptional client service and building long-standing relationships based on trust and integrity. In addition to his professional achievements, Brad is actively involved in his community, having coached female hockey teams for the past 10 years. He is also an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his family.

Cayley Mercer

Cayley joined ECFMI in 2019 and, in her current role as Head of Business Development, leads the team responsible for sales and marketing at the firm. Cayley’s efforts are focused on the origination and development of new and existing retail, institutional, and family office client relationships for ECFMI.
 
Prior to joining ECFMI, Cayley worked as a Sport Ambassador and Professional Athlete for the Kunlun Red Star – a women’s professional hockey team based in Shenzhen, China. 
 
Cayley received her Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Finance from Clarkson University in 2016, and her MBA from the same institution a year later. She continues to pursue professional development and has completed the Canadian Securities Course.

Nina holds the title of client ENGAGEMENT lead at ECFMI. Nina joined ECFMI in 2018, as a Client Service Associate, overseeing trade settlement and client service. As the firm expanded, Nina took on roles of increasing responsibility and focused on client relationship management, and client retention. Nina takes pride in providing an unparalleled experience to all of ECFMI’s clients.

Prior to joining ECFMI, Nina held the position as a Marketing Manager for Ralph Lauren. Nina attended Lasalle College and Ryerson University where she studied Fashion Design and Communications.

Fiona MacBain

REGIONAL HEAD, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Fiona MacBain joined ECFMI in 2020 and currently works as a regional head of business development where she is primarily responsible for client relationship growth as well as data and content creation. Fiona brings her past operations experience with East Coast ASSET MANAGEMENT to the ECFMI Business Development team, providing an analytic lens to the environment.

Fiona graduated from Dalhousie University where she earned a Bachelor of Management and Bachelor of Science in 2017. Most recently, Fiona completed the Canadian Securities Course to further develop her knowledge and skills in the industry.

John MacBain has 23 years of experience in the financial services industry in various trading and management roles. Most recently he was Vice President and Director, Interest Rate and Derivative Trading, TD Securities from 2001 to 2007 where he was in charge of North American interest rate option trading. While at TD Securities he also traded government bonds and interest rate swaps. Prior to joining TD in 1996 he spent 3.5 years at a derivative brokerage firm. In his current role, Mr. MacBain is responsible for Portfolio Management.

John has earned a Bachelor of Arts, Economics, from Mount Allison University.

Rod MacBain

HEAD OF IT

Rod has over 35 years of experience in IT and ICT industries, technologies, and applications. He has had lengthy terms as an engineer and product marketer for a Canadian telco (NBTel), and as an executive at SolutionInc - a successful software startup that executed an IPO, focused on delivering “visitor based internet” services to hospitality and conferencing markets.

Since 2010, Rod has been responsible for the complete buildout of all the network, systems, communications, and technology infrastructure at ECFMI. In his current role, Rod administers Ecfmi’s networking, cloud infrastructure, user hardware, and network and user security.

Rod earned his Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from UNB in 1985, and became a P.Eng in 1988.
